Oh God you have been my go to — in between and during — all of this life’s demands And now I find myself discontent while searching emails, browsing Facebook, Instagram, or text How quickly … how quickly … how quickly I suddenly forget That the info that I need to look for are the messages from You The Holy Spirit that guides all that I seek to know and need to follow The wonder you have bestowed in nature … here and now before me … almost begging to be seen and be acknowledged And above all, with gratitude aplenty, be a vessel overflowing faith and love and peace that comes from simply seeking You db

I pray to not let the churning of the world’s endless disturbance

Deter me from the sacred space I share with Thee

Listening for the song of Your Spirit calling

In concert with all Creation

Attention on the promise of Your peace and Your protection

Overcoming darkness in the light of Your reflection

Mining the goodness in each other

Living because of Your unconditional gift of Love

That multiplies with every offering of thanks

While I am waiting I will stay as busy as can be

 

I’ll stay and wait

Or stand and wait

Or walk then run then sit again

And sleep and eat between

Maybe write a book

Or see a picture I can snap

I’ll take a course

Learn something new

But all the while be waiting

I’ll not forget to pray

And remember to acknowledge

That while I wait I’m not alone

And although I cannot live tomorrow

To hold it in my memory

For tomorrow lives somehow within

Of the promise of what’s to come

While I live this day with gratitude busily awaiting

I pray to keep rekindling this truth

To live today and give to You tomorrow

On my own I would drown in a puddle of doubt and sorrow

But with You, my God of all things possible

We can walk on water

Peace and Love . . .

It’s that time of year

What time is that you say

It is now; it is always

It is our weapon against war

It is our agent for all disease

It is what wakes us up

And gives us pause

Not to rise up in rebuke

Not to lay down in denial

Not to lie, but to edify

And only when the Spirit says it’s called for

Let me mark this day as one of reckoning

Where again I turn my heart and all to God

The only One who knew who would be next to come into the Kingdom

And yes although it’s hard to believe 

A Forgiveness, and a mercy, and a grace so great 

That somehow even the perpetrator has a place 

Oh God please help me here to love with your love of this sordid human race

Thank You God that the only good measure of my day is based upon the time I’ve spent with You ~

 

Not even the grandest of winged creations can fly

 

 

    Without first spreading their wings to try

Only that we make a start

Commitment is the fuel

Courage is its compass
