Only by giving You thanks each day

And with the acknowledgement of Your unfailing love

Can I witness the delight and glory of your Creation

For the spirit of its beauty you have already seeded in my heart

By trusting that all you have made is good

And that each and every one of us

Was uniquely crafted in love by You

We can trust to not withhold our own blossoming

Which are the gifts that you have freely bestowed

Bearing witness is my throbbing pulse

Your guiding love gives my heart no rest

To pursue whatever you deem best

Flying in a metal bird

Made from man’s imagination

All this effort and ingenuity

To get from here to there

For years of countless generations

This has been a burning quest

Requiring time and talent and much unrest

To first believe then achieve a skyward peopled flight

I propose that this has been disguised and often unidentified

This inner knowing, constant yearning, mental churning

Desire to attain an ultimate and evident closeness to the Heavens

To be nearer to our home

Oh foolish generation

Who knows not God as Love

A commuter-ship to Mars and back still would leave a desert gap

If not navigated by the Spirit

Making heaven home the mark

By pleasing our Creator

With love for one another

Is a worthy goal and an unparalleled destination

To consider all that you have blest

Put my thoughts to test

That in You all reliance rests

 

Consider this

And do not miss

What needs to be your daily quest

 

As far as the east is from the west

Is the extent of My love growing greater never less

On this truth You can surely rest

I have endowed you with my very breath

Given you a heart that beats

Ability with hands and feet

Knowledge of me when I speak

 

Welcome me as you would the morning sun

Trusting that the best is yet to come

Upon this path is born a new day bright

Where in your heart there glows a light

You call it love, I call it might

From which comes all that is good in life

 

Make this your engine’s driving force

Our hearts united on this daily course

I pray here now to declare

Your presence ever vibrant here

To speak aloud Your glories

In the eyes that meet You in the mirror of Your creation

To not absorb my self with self

But rather selflessly release

Free will to become one with Yours

Harness thoughts that seek an unknown future

Speed the track from past to present

Memories that shackle when dwelt upon too long

Or living in an impossible tomorrow

In an air that only You can breathe

Bring me back to this moment

Where I can be of love and service to live in full expression

Like a flower blooming on the vine

Never minding fate of wilting, falling

Back to earth then heavenward where the journey never ends

While still unfurling petals grow to magnify its beauty

With nature all surrounding giving homage to You near

I can wait

For I am eternity

Waiting for your desire

To spend all of it with Me

Patience is a gift

And I cannot give to you

What is not already all of Me

Open your heart

And your eyes will see

A glimpse of all I have in store for thee

Be prepared to receive My love

In measure so immeasurable

It must overflow to burst upon a hungry, wanting, waiting world

As my messenger you receive

The gift of being my ambassador

You may not see your reward today but do not be forlorn

For hope is ministered through my angels’ hands to feed your soul, to keep you strong

Remember I am faithful

And I am always with you

Waiting, wanting, loving you

Dear Lord each day I wake and profess my thanks

By habit is it now

But never let it be I pray

By rote, a box to check

And forget to thank you from my heart

For the ability to see, to hear

To wake and walk upright

To hold another’s hand

To gaze into their eyes

To thank you for our lives

The train has left the station — but my mind, that is speeding forth on a faster track, has already arrived at its predetermined destination — Unable to recount where I have been the rationale disguised as truth insists — “What you’ve missed is worth the price to get where you are going.”

It requires a necessary discipline, halting tracks to slowing down — To reconnect with the source of life, that in its disregarded elegance seems to beg for my attention. How could I give Creator and creation praise … blinded sometimes by my own intentions?

I wind down, breathless and amazed … as though it is a first. This free, most precious gift exciting senses, calming soul with Spirit’s peace — bares a beauty that abounds with seeds for endless blooming.

 

I asked God where have You been That I cannot see and cannot hear

In surrender the answer came to me

Asking with Your mind
Is not how our thoughts align

Your heart holds the key
To open communication between you and Me

Do not squander free will for worldly ends
For this world and its corruption will surely end

Seek with your whole heart what cannot die

Love is the beginning 
Love has no end
