Why We Need God   Leave a comment

Oh God, why do I stray

When You have shown You always know the way

The way that leads to peace, and joy, and life

You who are a constant source of strength for challenges unknown

The days of infancy are frail, and so vulnerable

We cannot survive alone

Now full grown I need You still

And desire You even more

Knowing that without You near

I am still so frail, and so vulnerable

Why We Need You

Every Dog has Its Day   Leave a comment

And Petunia has hers as often as possible

With her paws still healing, the smooth and shiny floors aren’t the only attraction

Earth Animal in Westport is her fav

Where everyone treats her like a star

I  imagine that for her it must seem to be

Like living inside a birthday cake

Where she can have her cake, and have her fill 😉

Mourning Dove   Leave a comment

Mourning the morning now long past

Evening comes with coo of dove

Taking flight to find her rest tonight

Oh God why do we prey upon the small and innocent

Or prey on anyone at all

One day, I pray, there will no longer be

The need or fear of being preyed upon at all

“Think Occasionally of the Suffering of Which You Spare Yourself the Sight – Albert Schweitzer   Leave a comment

This Monday, October 13, at 9am I’ll be speaking at the Planetree Conference in support of animal rights — and the importance of our all taking a part as rescuers — The animal kingdom has even begun to speak to me in dreams. Last night I dreamed of a dolphin. It was so vivid, I woke up crying — Their crisis is inflicted by human hands and we can do something to help them — In so doing, we rescue ourselves …

How to Know What’s in Our Heart   Leave a comment

~ Elephants are everywhere ~

Their cry has crossed the oceans

Piercing hearts that care worldwide

Oh God, may I seek you out continually, and always look within

With eyes to see Your glory, and Your story unfolding in the skies

Give our life a better purpose — To care for others, not just self

Before what we can see and touch, turns to vapor like the clouds
